These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Ataraxia Life website and the services offered through it. By accessing or using this website, or booking any services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Website Owner, Offering & Binding Terms

This website is owned and operated by Ataraxia Life, based in Helsinki, Finland. We offer services including catering, private chef services, cooking classes, retreats, free content (blog, guides), and subscriptions. These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you (the user) and Ataraxia Life for use of the website and for any services booked via this site.

2. Who May Use the Website

You must be at least 18 years old or have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts in your jurisdiction.
Users are expected to comply with all applicable laws.
At present, no user accounts or content uploads are permitted.

3. Reservations and Bookings

Booking a service (catering, class, retreat, etc.) constitutes a binding agreement once confirmed in writing (email or signed agreement).
By making a reservation, you agree to the terms of the specific service you have booked.
Ataraxia Life reserves the right to refuse or cancel bookings in cases of misrepresentation, error, or circumstances beyond its control.

4. Pricing and Payment

Prices will be communicated in advance and may include VAT. Additional costs (e.g. travel, special ingredients, extra staff) will be specified if needed.
Payment terms are as stated in the booking or invoice. Unless otherwise agreed, full payment is due within 7 daysof invoice.

5. Cancellations and Refunds

All client cancellations are non-refundable. Please review all details carefully before booking.
Ataraxia Life may cancel a booking in cases of illness, force majeure, or other circumstances beyond its control. In such cases, any advance payments made will be refunded in full.

6. Right to Change Offerings

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any service, subscription plan, menu item, event, or content at any time without prior notice.

7. Warranties & Responsibility for Services

Services are provided “as is” and to the best of our ability. We do not guarantee specific results unless explicitly agreed in writing.
We are not responsible for circumstances or results beyond our control (weather, supply issues, third-party delays, etc.).
If you inform us in advance of allergies or dietary restrictions, we will take reasonable measures, but cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment.

8. Intellectual Property

All text, graphics, logos, branding, and site content are owned by Ataraxia Life unless otherwise stated.
Certain photographs are used under license from photographer Jella Bertell and remain her intellectual property. They may not be copied, modified, or redistributed without her prior written consent. Photo credit will be displayed where possible in accordance with the license.
Users may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any content from this website without prior written permission.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Ataraxia Life shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with use of the site or services.
We are not liable for delays, cancellations, or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control (force majeure).
Our total liability for any claim arising from a service you booked shall not exceed the amount paid for that service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Ataraxia Life, its owners, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of our services or content.

11. Promotional Communications

If you provide your email address, you may receive marketing or promotional messages (newsletters, updates). This is by consent and you may opt out at any time via the unsubscribe link or by contacting yasu@ataraxialife.fi.
We may send necessary service messages (booking confirmations, reminders, changes) regardless of marketing preferences.

12. Payments via Wix Payments

Payments on this website may be processed through Wix Payments or other third-party providers. By completing a transaction, you agree to be bound by the relevant provider’s terms in addition to these Terms.
Payment processing fees charged by Wix are non-refundable.
Ataraxia Life is not responsible for delays in payment processing, settlement periods, or issues arising from the payment provider’s systems.
In the event of a refund, reversal, or chargeback initiated by the customer or their bank, any associated costs, fees, or deductions applied by Wix or the payment provider will be the responsibility of the customer.
Bookings are considered confirmed only after successful payment processing. If a payment is declined, the booking will not be valid.

13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising from or in connection with these Terms or your use of our services or website shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Helsinki, Finland.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update or amend these Terms from time to time. The version posted on this site is the most current. Your continued use of the site or any booked services after changes indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.
